Nordhavn Whisky Run 2026 Recap

September 2026

The first ever Nordhavn Whisky Run brought together Nordhavn owners, families and the NEL/PAE team for a fantastic weekend of cruising, camaraderie and whisky among the spectacular islands of Scotland’s west coast.

The gathering began in Oban on the Friday before moving across to Kerrera Marina, where the fleet came together for a relaxed welcome at the Waypoint Restaurant. Set on the small island of Kerrera and run by Gill and Tim; a husband and wife team, the restaurant served an impressive menu of produce sourced from their own farm and local waters. As more boats arrived, the afternoon quickly turned into a lively gathering, with owners catching up over good food and conversation, while the children disappeared off to explore the island.

The following morning, the fleet headed north in convoy towards Tobermory, enjoying four hours of spectacular scenery, historic castles and, on arrival, an unexpected welcome from a pod of dolphins. The afternoon continued with a fascinating tour of Tobermory Distillery, before everyone reconvened for drinks and dinner at the Macgochans restaurant in the town.

The evening was also an opportunity to celebrate some significant milestones, including the presentation of a 10,000 nautical mile pennant to Mark and Fiona Rammell of Awanui NZ. It was a fitting celebration of the shared spirit of adventure that brings the Nordhavn community together.

The weekend ended with farewells in Tobermory, although the Whisky Run continued for three boats — Awanui NZ, Blue Magic and Suilven — which headed on to Lochaline. Anchoring together in the loch, they rounded off the weekend with a BBQ, bringing a relaxed close to a memorable Nordhavn gathering in Scotland.
