N76 Spirit of Ulysses which was recently sold on our Brokerage, set sail on her Maiden voyage under new ownership. She was destined for La Coruna in Spain, crossing the challenging waters of Biscay. She will then cruise down to Gibraltar and then onto her new home north of Barcelona. Her new owner had experienced hands aboard as the previous owner joined him for the 3 day cruise from Southampton. The new owner also had a friend along for the trip and Dan, who hails from New Zealand, has spend much time aboard professional fishing vessels in the Southern Ocean.
On the final 24 hours, Biscay lived up to its reputation and produced 30 knot plus wind with steep waves. The new owner was amazed just how stable Spirit of Ulysses remained and Dan commented that he had never been on such a comfortable vessel in such conditions!
Spirit of Ulysses clocked up over 58,000 miles with her previous owner and looks set to do at least that number again. This trip has given her new owner affirmed confidence in his boat and the brand and now knows first hand that his Nordhavn will keep himself and family safe and comfortable when cruising.
The next leg to Gibraltar will start this weekend where she will take on advantage of lost cost fuel before entering the Mediteranean. At Nordhavn Europe we like to track our fleet using Marine Traffic its a great way of seeing what our boats are up to! Keep an eye out for more updates of her travels.
